Situation and challenge
Integrity and compliance play a rather subordinate role in the company’s culture. A new executive board member wants to change that.
The absence of a scandal or significant incident can also be an obstacle to recognizing the importance of integrity and compliance within an organization and to measuring and managing these factors professionally. The culture of integrity and compliance as it is practiced day to day is to be focused on in particular, because this is precisely where there are deficits according to the employee survey. In addition, there is an urgent need to communicate on these issues.
Project
cetacea supports with a team of three on site and virtually over the period of one year
cetacea’s tasks: Integrity and compliance communication needs to be addressed quickly. In addition, the tried and tested Perception Workshops are used, the status is measured, participants are involved, the topic is enlivened, and unprecedented commitment for it is created.
Result
Integrity and compliance are taken to a new level in the organization.
- Understanding of integrity culture: Key messages and relevant articles and interviews on integrity and compliance have been issued
- Employees and executives worldwide have been engaged in Perception Workshops on integrity and compliance, opening up a dialogue
- Engagement and interest have been fostered, thus driving forward the cultural transformation
- Status quo and potential for improvement of the integrity and compliance culture have been highlighted, creating a sense of momentum and enthusiasm
Procedure
cetacea is quick to get involved in communication and rolls out Perception Workshops internationally, which are met with a high interest and commitment.
cetacea starts with a readiness analysis of the compliance organization to identify strengths and weaknesses. This enables a unified understanding, allowing for a close collaboration within the function.
The communication regarding integrity and compliance needs to be significantly strengthened. cetacea develops core messages, writes internal articles, Q&As, and interviews, and prepares key content for internal formats and channels.
The lived reality of integrity and compliance across the group should be understood, and dialogue should be initiated across hierarchy levels, country borders, and functions to generate interest and engagement on the topic. cetacea designs, organizes, and moderates virtual a Perception Workshop and analyzes the results in detail. Employees and executives participate, receive information about the target culture, understand the significance of integrity and compliance in a tangible way, vote live on the current state of the lived culture, and develop improvement ideas in small groups. Following positive feedback from the participants, the Perception Workshop will be repeated and expanded.
